I have been with a large national company for just over a year doing acute care. I am thinking of looking for a new company. I am leaning towards OSi and Webmedx right now. I have also considered Princeton and Transolutions.
I welcome any private messages for feedback on these companies. My main concern right now is if they offshore and would appreciate any other information you would like to share.
TIA,
Lucy

Lucy,
From snooping on the boards, I've heard good about WEBMDX and Transolutions! I am a newbie myself, but when I was searching those were the companies that stood out. I wanted more flexibility so I went with AP, but am not sure how long I will stay. For right now, it's good for me. Just my thoughts on 2 of the companies.

I have a question for you. What do you think about working for a large company from your home? I am a solo IC, but thought maybe I could make more money picking up some work with a large company. Just wondering about your thoughts on national companies vs IC.

In my experience, I am paid a higher line rate by IC-ing with a local clinic than a national company. (I assume this is what you are asking) However, there can be added expenses when working for yourself... for example, I have to drive 15 miles round trip to pick up my tapes and then spend the time uploading them. When it comes down to it, I am still making a little bit more, but I'm not sure its all worth the hassle.
There are larger companies that do hire on IC basis, and some smaller companies do too. Its all about finding the company that is the right fit for you.
