Well, I just don't know what to do. I'm a medical transcriptionist, I worked for Medquist for 6 years. I quit last October for several reasons, the main one being I need back surgery and I was on medications that interfered with my ability to work, but I also had never gotten a pay raise from them and asking to take a pay cut to use their new technology. I'd quit before and tried a couple of other companies, but didn't do well with them and ended up going back to MQ. My surgery is scheduled for next month. I'm now taking online courses to do legal transcription, but it's going to take a while to complete and I'm afraid I'll end up in the same trap as I did with Medquist. I'm not sure if I should continue as an MT but I have to do something soon. Softscript has contacted me, and I am considering working for them, but does anyone know of any other good companies looking for experienced MTs? Or has anyone considering doing legal transcription instead?
