Now a solo IC. Thought I was a solo IC at last job until I kept getting MANDATORY overtime.

Hey, Rennie, could you post the meanings of the abbreviations for those of us who don't know what they all are? I didn't pick anything b/c to me a "solo IC" would be someone who has their own clients. I'm an IC but work for another company. What's that fall under?!?! I'm new here & a new IC, so maybe it just comes with time, but I don't know what all your meanings are. Thanks,

IC solo means that you work as an independent contractor, but you don't have any MTs that work for you (in any capacity). SE stands for statutory employee. MTSO stands for medical transcription service owner (or organization). BTW, welcome to MT Chitchat! Nice to see you again. PS. For those interested in the nitty-gritty legal description of different worker classes, this article does an awesome job explaining worker classifications: Independent Contractor vs. Employee: Exploring the Categories.

OK. Thank you Rennie! Now I understand. So.... I guess I'd vote for Solo IC b/c I work for another company as an IC?!?!?!?!
