Definition of Visible Black Character: A VBC is a character that can be seen with the naked eye. Under this counting scheme, spaces, carriage returns, and hidden formatting instructions such as bolding, underline, text boxes, printer configurations, and spell checking are not counted in the total character count.library.ahima.org/xpedio/groups/public/documents/ahima/bok1_033557.html(which I wouldn't care about if our pay were increased to compensate, but I'm surely not going to bet the farm on that happening)

Wow. Just wow. I guess I wouldn't be so bothered if the pay would go up to compensate, but I doubt that is going to happen. I can see why AHIMA and MTIA would be behind this, but why AAMT/AHDI? Aren't they now partnered/merged with MTIA? Patrice
